Title: Tarkovia: Survival Islands
Pitch: "You’re stranded on a deserted island with a bunch of anthropomorphic animals, and you have to survive while building a utopia." "But every time you take a step, you’re fighting for your life against raiders, zombies, and the elements."
Core loop: Gather resources, build and upgrade your base, and defend against raiders and zombie hordes while balancing survival and community building.
Stolen mechanics:
- Animal Crossing’s amiibo / item customization → Players customize their animal characters with gear and abilities, but upgrades require scavenging and crafting.
- Escape from Tarkov’s looting and trading system → Players loot weapons and trade with other survivors, but resources decay over time and enemies spawn randomly.
- Animal Crossing’s procedural island generation → Islands have unique biomes (volcanic, icy, etc.) with animal-specific challenges (e.g., polar bears in Arctic zones).
The clip: A player’s base is overrun by a zombie horde, they spam crafting to build a wall, and their animal companion (a raccoon) uses a grenade to clear a path, ending with a slow-mo kill shot.
Why it might fail: The blend of relaxed building and survival’s grind could alienate fans of both games, creating a toxic mix of stress and frustration.
